Artist Ruth Erdt and architecture theoretician, historian and critic André Bideau talk in the context of the exhibition AAA Experiments. These talks are public and free; they take place on Thursdays between the 10 October and 19 December 2024, starting each week at 7 pm.
The discussion will be moderated by Daniel Baumann and takes place in German.
André Bideau is an architecture theoretician, historian and critic. He holds a M.Arch from ETH Zurich and a PhD from Zurich University. He is co-director of the MAS program in the History and Theory of Architecture at ETH Zurich and also teaches history and theory of architecture at Accademia di architettura Mendrisio. In 2017 he was a co-founder of Zentrum Architektur Zürich where he has curated several exhibitions. Bideau’s research and teaching address intersections of architecture production, urbanization and urban governance under the socio-economic dynamics of postmodernism and Post-Fordism. He has lectured and published extensively on this subject, in particular on the work of architect O.M. Ungers and on Swiss historian of urbanism André Corboz where he was lead curator of a major retrospective shown in 2022 in Mendrisio and at ETH Lausanne.
Ruth Erdt is an artist who lives and works in Schwamendingen (Zürich) and Genova. Her current exhibition is on view at Kunsthalle Zürich.
