A public lecture from Marirena Kladeftira in the context of Prof. Catherine De Wolf's Future Cities Lab Design Studio 'Digital Creativity for Circular Construction' organized by the Chair of Circular Engineering for Architecture (CEA), in the Institute of Construction and Infrastructure Management (IBI), at the Department of Civil, Environmental, and Geomatic Engineering (D-BAUG) at ETH Zurich.
Marirena Kladeftira is a PhD researcher at the chair of Digital Building Technologies (dbt), Institute of Technology in Architecture (ITA) of ETH Zurich, where she leads the research on additive-manufactured complex joints for bespoke lightweight structures. Kladeftira is an architect, researcher and educator with a passion for novel approaches to design and making enabled by digital technologies. Her work explores how digital technologies can expand our creative boundaries, transcending multiple disciplines in order to orchestrate the complex systems that govern our impact on society and the environment at the micro- and macro-level of our materials, design processes, and buildings.
