This Week in Zürich informs you about shows not to be missed when in Zurich. Go see the Murano glass at Museum Bellerive. You think that it equals kitsch, but you possibly change your mind.
Murano stands for kitsch and for the souvenir that we get in Venice on the last day of our visit - and throw away once we are home. Well, change your mind at Museum Bellerive's current show. It traces the history of Murano's glas, presents the amazing craft and design and offers you psychedlic experiments in color. Some of the great works are by the architect Carlos Scarpa (1906–1978) and the legendary designer Ettore Sottsass (1917–2007). Here comes the texts accompanying the show. muranoglas_bellerive_english.pdf
