On the night of 6 September, Kunsthalle Zürich is open until 1 am.
At Löwenbräukunst (where Kunsthalle Zürich, Migros Museum für Gegenwartskunst and Museum Haus Konstruktiv are participating in Zürich's Long Night of Museums) a varied programme awaits you with workshops for all, exhibition tours, concerts, tasty food from LOI vegetarian bistro and great surprises. We're looking forward to seeing you!
The programme at Kunsthalle Zürich:
Workshop 'Tag-Team: Letter, Sticker, Glitter'
6–8.30 pm
Studio Kunsthalle Zürich, 2nd floor
In 2002, Klara Lidén developed a fictitious, alternative and free communication system. She painted a yellow letterbox white and placed it – illegally – in a remote location. She personally undertook to deliver the posted letters worldwide: a letter to London took about a month, to New York it could take up to a year.
For the Long Night of Museums, we are adopting Klara Lidén's idea. At Studio Kunsthalle Zürich we will equip you with funky materials so that you can design a letter or card. Afterwards, you can post the letter in the pink letterbox that we have hidden on the Löwenbräu site. It's up to you to find out where it is!
Within a year, we can deliver your messages to the following locations: Maienfeld, Mexico City, Chur, Seewis, Thurgi, Tirana, Thalwil, Lucerne, Vienna, Berlin, Hamburg, San José, St. Gallen, Santa Marta, Guatemala City, Antigua, Limon, Napoli, Arzachena, Disentis, Melchsefrutt, K12 and the rest of Zurich. If you don't know anyone there or don't like that idea, you have the option of sticking a cheeky message in the urban space.
Tours of Klara Lidén's exhibition
8pm (EN), 9 pm (DE), 10 pm (DE), 11 pm (EN), 12 midnight (DE/EN)
