In a collaborative project between the BA Fashion Design at FHNW-HGK Basel and Kunsthalle Zürich (with warm thanks to the Kunstverein München), students explored and responded to the multi-layered work of American artist Pippa Garner. Taking Garner's critical and uncompromising practice as a starting point, they considered themes such as consumption, waste systems, gender, replica, import/materiality, self-modification, sustainability or performativity, developing their own works in the process.
The resulting works (drawings, performances, objects, photographs, garments, sculptures, text and installation works) will be shown by the students in the Kunsthalle Zürich Studio.
