A neighbourhood expedition – objets trouvés workshop

26.03.2022
14:00–16:00

As part of the Löwenbräukunst «Community Day» im Löwenbräukunst.

Armed with plastic bags we go on a foraging trip around the Löwenbräukunst complex.

In and around the building we will find ample interesting materials and treasures, paying attention to things we otherwise leave lying, throw away or ignore. These so-called objéts trouvés make up the material for our workshop.

Back in the studio, we will spread out our stash on a large table. After this display, there are two great workshop possibilities:

1. Inspired by Igshaan Adams' exhibition Kicking Dust at Kunsthalle Zürich we combine our objéts trouvés with string, glass beads, plastic, wood, glass or material. Taking the artist's lead, little woven images emerge, which can be taken home as a souvenir.

2. Inspired by Evan Ifekoya's exhibition Resonant Frequencies in the Migros Museum für Gegenwartskunst we create an instrument from which we can produce experimental sounds using our cache combined with other materials.
